Home / Why Go Digital / Online vs. Hybrid

Students interested in a more flexible learning experience may prefer online or hybrid courses over traditional, face-to-face instruction that is delivered entirely within a classroom.

Traditional instruction is 100% face to face. Online instruction is 100% online.

Online courses are taught completely online. Hybrid courses partially meet face-to-face, but combine meetings with 50% to 85% online instruction.

Both online and hybrid courses utilize Blackboard Learn for the online instructional environment, present digital content in the form of documents and videos, interact through communication tools, and monitor student learning through assignments and assessments.

Hybrid instruction can either be 50% online and 50% face to face, or mostly online with little face to face.
