Canvas Experiencing Slow Loading and Page Errors

AWS Outage Impacting Digital Tools

Some of our digital learning tools experienced disruptions earlier this morning (10/20/2025) due to the widespread Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage. While most tools are now operational, some vendors continue to work toward fully restoring services. We are actively monitoring all systems and will update this page as new information becomes available.

Canvas Course Enrollment Update

Adobe.com Login Issue

Academic Innovation is aware of an issue currently preventing users from logging into adobe.com. Users who are already logged into Adobe or the Creative Cloud desktop app should not be affected and can continue using services as normal. Macmillan Learning: Duplicate Attempts in SpeedGrader

Academic Innovation has received reports of duplicate Achieve attempts being recorded in the Canvas Gradebook. This is causing assignments to be marked as late and students to receive an email notification each time grades are synced. We are actively working with Macmillan Support to resolve this issue.

404 Error When Downloading Office Files Using Microsoft Edge

Academic Innovation has received reports of Blackboard displaying 404 errors when downloading Microsoft Office files using the latest version of Microsoft Edge. This issue is due to a new feature released in Edge that opens Office files in the browser. To get around this error, you will need to disable this feature using the following steps:

  1. Open the Edge menu by clicking the three dots in the top right.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Downloads from the left menu.
  4. Set “Open Office files in the Browser” to Off

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra Upgrade

On Thursday, January 13, 2022, Blackboard Collaborate Ultra will be upgraded to the latest release. This upgrade will occur from 1:00 am to 5:00 am CDT. Blackboard engineers will try to minimize downtime and do not plan on using the entire maintenance window. However, they will use the whole maintenance window if necessary. Collaborate Ultra users will experience intermittent availability during this maintenance window.
