User Information in Blackboard

User information such as First Name, Preferred Name, Last Name, and Email Address are determined by myUTSA Account/Banner. Please review the following table for instructions on how to update this information.

Information Students Faculty/Staff
Legal Name Official changes to your first, middle, and/or last name must be submitted to OneStop via the Name and ID Number Change form. Official changes to first, middle, and/or last name must be submitted to People Excellence at hr@utsa.edu.
Preferred Name Students can submit a preferred name online through the Personal Information tab within their myUTSA Account. Faculty/Staff may submit a preferred name change request to People Excellence at hr@utsa.edu.
Email Address The official means of communication is via email using a student’s @my.utsa.edu email address. Any student employees designated as an instructor in myUTSA Account/Banner will have their @utsa.edu email populated in Blackboard. The official means of communication is via email using an employee’s @utsa.edu email address. Any non-faculty employee who is also a student will have their @my.utsa.edu email populated in Blackboard.
