New & Improved Whiteboard

The August release of Blackboard Collaborate Ultra introduces a new and improved whiteboard. Instructors will notice many similarities as the whiteboard is powered by the same annotation tools used in Bb Annotate. With this upgrade, students and instructors can enjoy better formatting, usability, and annotation persistence when using a session whiteboard or a shared file. Some of the improvements include:

Better formatting: Pencil thickness, fonts and font size, shapes with color fill, arrows, and more have been added to the annotation tools.

Usability: It’s now easier to copy and reuse elements and paste text. When you need to delete, you can erase part of the annotations or clear all annotations. There are also multi-line text blocks, text wrapping, and safeguards before clearing all annotations.

Annotation persistence: Annotations made on the whiteboard or a file are saved in the session. You can share something new, go to a new slide, or stop sharing, and the annotations remain. Select the Clear Annotations icons to clear the whiteboard.
TIP: Create a blank file of several pages to have a multi-page whiteboard.
